This transversal institutional capacity building subproject aims to enable UNILU staff (teaching, research, and technical-administrative) to effectively address the socio-ecological challenges facing populations within the Katangese Copperbelt Area (KCA). The project focuses on strengthening five key dimensions:
administrative governance through improved organizational and operational management of technical and administrative services
academic governance through academic succession planning, continuous staff training, performance evaluation, ICT integration, and language skills
research governance regarding organizational aspects of the Research Support Office (RSO) and library services
visibility of UNILU through improved operational aspects of the University Press (PUL), institutional-society interface (USI), website enhancement, and creation of UNILU radio and television school
creation of an Environmental Observatory that will federate existing specialized research centres and establish new ones
enhanced international visibility to attract new partners and funding
